Local police promised to be out in force looking for impaired drivers over the Labour Day weekend, and they delivered.
Renfrew OPP tell myFM that a RIDE check along Chenaux Road near Haley Station at 11am on Saturday, September 3rd resulted in a 29-year-old man from Pikwakanagon First Nation arrested on two drunk driving related offenses.
Then, at 6:30 in the evening on Labour Day Monday, September 5th, police would intercept a car going 60 km/h over the posted limit along Highway 17.
The resulting traffic stop ended with a 25-year-old from Woodlawn picking up two drunk driving charges of his own.
Both were released from custody, and will appear in Renfrew for an October 19th court date.
