Jennifer Dale and Scott Judd
A local winery is looking for your help in harvesting their grapes ahead of the winter.
Jennifer Dale and Scott Judd from the Little Red Wagon Winery in Shawville says to keep an eye on facebook and instagram for information on a day of socializing and picking grapes for their P’tit Rouge, P’tit Rose, and P’tit Blanc varietals.
Judd notes that this year’s weather has led to a smaller crop than last, but there’s still plenty of work to be done and that the early start to the day will be capped with lunch and refreshments afterwards.
When it comes to wine, Dale tells myFM that the grapes tell you when it’s time to harvest. As such, they don’t a specific day to mark on your calendar just yet.
They expect this year’s bounty to be ready by Thanksgiving, and will try to send out specifics for the event at least a week ahead of time.
Weather could also play a factor, as the pair say they won’t risk watering down the wine by picking on a rainy day.
