It’s the first ever Algonquin Trail Relay event in Renfrew County.
Co-Chair of the Ottawa Valley Cycling and Active Transportation Alliance (OVCATA), Ron Moss, says they will start in Petawawa on Saturday (August 20th) around 8:00am and continue through Pembroke, Laurentian Valley, Cobden, Admaston/Bromley, Renfrew, Horton and McNab/Braeside on the way to Arnprior.
Many people will be doing short distances, but some plan go the full 100-kilometers.
The relay is Saturday and you can register online if you plan to take part. Moss says if you’re going the full distance, make sure you arrange transportation back or work with some of the other riders.
A golden railway spike will be handed off between municipalities as part of the Algonquin Trail Town Relay.
