Renfrew County will have an additional voice at the table for important funding and services.
County Councilor Peter Emon joins the Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s Rural Caucus as they wrap up there annual conference in Ottawa on Wednesday.
Emon says this week’s AMO conference gives Renfrew County the chance to secure funding and support from provincial ministries and fellow municipalities for services like the Virtual Triage and Community Paramedicine.
Emon adds that the appointment also places him on the Rural Ontario Municipal Association, a vital board within AMO.
Being present at both AMO and ROMA meetings means gaining a greater chance to promote Renfrew County’s innovations to the rest of the province. Once other municipalities catch on, the province becomes more likely to take note and fund the services accordingly.
Emon will serve as part of AMO and ROMA for the next two years.
