The 96.1 myFM All Hands on Deck Food Drive was a huge success in Renfrew and Shawville, according to General Manager Bob Dillabough.
Donations from the Metro and Chris and Tanya’s No Frills filled seven bins at the Renfrew and District Food Bank, on top of over $4000 dollars in cash.
Food Drive made it’s first appearance in the Pontiac region on Thursday. Dillabough tells us more about the debut at the Giant Tiger in Shawville.
The truckloads of food, as well as over $900 in cash donations from Shawville were sent to the Pontiac Food Bank in Campbell’s Bay.
Dillabough says this time of year can be particularity taxing on food banks, as they help parents in need deal with the extra costs that come with back to school expenses.
He adds response from the community was amazing, as he was taking donations from the moment he arrived on location to when it came time to send off their haul to the food bank.
