Pembroke is getting a virtual youth robotics club. The program will be hosted by Ottawa Valley Power Play, a virtual reality arcade downtown Pembroke. Owner Ron Duncan says they plan to join the robotics competition club once school starts back up in in September. Students between the age of 12 and 18 will work together to problem solve with friendly competitions.
Duncan says teams of up to 15 people will work together to design a brand, program robots and eventually compete in a robotics competition.
The owner of Ottawa Valley Power Play says students will learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills.
He adds they are looking for corporate sponsors and donations to support the initiative. You can learn more and register to be part of the youth robotics club online.
In addition to being a virtual reality arcade, Ottawa Valley Power Play also offers rentals and mobile units that can visit workplaces, community centres, senior residences and neighbourhood events. People of all ages enjoy the virtual reality arcade in Pembroke.
