The Town of Renfrew invites you down to Ma-Te-Way Park on Wednesday to celebrate the new tennis and pickleball courts and splash pad.
Ribbons will be cut for the Grand Opening of the neighbouring attractions starting at 11:00am.
The Renfrew Tennis Club and local pickleball players will be on hand with free how-to-play clinics until 1:00pm.
Parks and Recreation Director Kevin Hill tells myFM that the day will be the perfect chance to pick up pickleball, which is quickly becoming popular in Renfrew and across Canada.
Town staff suggest that you bring two things with you: a swimsuit and an appetite. The splash pad will be open for use throughout the day, and the town will be putting on a free barbeque for the event.
The Chair of the Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Committee, Councilor Tom Sidney thanks the work done by town staff and contractors to make the new facilities a reality.
He’s also confident that they’ll be enjoyed by the community for years to come.
