After eleven years in business downtown, Mel Blimkie tells myFM that a Sense of Country is pulling out all the stops and inviting the community to join them at the store this Saturday.
Blimkie says the store, located on Raglan Street South, and wasn’t originally meant to be a long-term project. However, since their inception, A Sense of Country’s nostalgic candy, decor and accessories, plus countless curiosities, novelties, gifts and more have made them a favourite destination for local regulars and day-trippers alike.
Even after eleven years in operation and watching fellow businesses along the downtown strip come and go, Blimkie tells us that a Sense of Country continues to pleasantly surprise new customers.
A Sense of Country’s 11th Anniversary event is this Saturday, July 30th with both a garage sale outside the store and a no-tax event going on inside. Plenty of snacks and cake will be on hand, as well as prizes like a Haven Beauty basket worth $150 or fudge for a year.
Blimkie adds that there will be some special prizes you can only win by listening to 96.1 myFM on Saturday.
