Renfrew Town Council approved some give and take at their meeting on Tuesday, July 12th , agreeing to send it’s Chief Building Official to help Greater Madawaska with building inspections and plan examinations.
Chief Administrative Officer Robert Tremblay explained to council that it’s about all about collaborating with our nieghbours.
Renfrew accepted some help of their own earlier in the meeting, taking on a part-time staffer from McNab/Braeside over a five week period to fill a void in the town’s support for summer programming. Tremblay spoke to the what caused the ask for help.
Renfrew’s Director of Development and Works Mike Asselin echoed Tremblay’s sentiments on sharing staff with nearby townships in times of need.
The agreement with Greater Madawaska came about after they lost both their own Chief Building Officer as well as their Manager of Planning. The agreement with McNab/Braeside comes due to a short-term leave within Renfrew’s staff.
