The new Blended smoothie shop on the corner of Duke Avenue and Argyle Street South has an eye on going local as they grow.
Co-Owner Madison McLean says most of the ingredients on their menu are sourced from within Ontario, but do see the chance to bring in more local produce to use in their healthy smoothies.
One ingredient they proudly tout is locally produced maple syrup, which is the sweetener for their smoothie base.
Kayla Fraser, the other half of the ownership team, tells myFM that the response from the public to their healthy smoothies as well as their breakfast and lunch menu has been great, and shows that there’s still has space for businesses in Renfrew to find an audience.
The combination of opening up after pandemic restrictions dropped as well as recent hot weather over the three weeks that Blended has been in business could not have been more perfect. Not only has there been plenty of thirsty visitors, McLean says that they’ve adapted some lessons on keeping customers comfortable from the COVID-19 era of restaurant dining.
Both owners were also pleased to say that they have plans to expand the menu in the future, with a new watermelon smoothie debuting over the weekend.
