It was a busy day at Tim Hortons in Renfrew on Wednesday, July 13th as coffee purchases raised over $12 million in support of sending underprivileged kids to summer camp
Richard Dean owns the local franchise. He explains that both Renfrew locations have the honour of sending a group of kids to summer camp each year.
Dean tells myFM that the money goes towards sending kids from low income families in Renfrew and across the country to summer camp, where they learn things like resilience, confidence, and leadership.
He adds that even if you missed out of Camp day, you can still help the cause year round.
Tim Hortons has raised over $237 million since Camp Day first began 30 years ago, with the money sending over 300,000 kids to summer camp.
