
A large scale traffic blitz on Highway 17 has ended with dozens of charges.
The blitz was conducted on Highway 17 between North Bay and Ottawa from 6:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday, July 16th, 2022.
Police were focused on aggressive driving and laid 127 charges for speeding and one person was charged with stunt driving.
Two impaired drivers were charged, one driver was charged under the liquor license act, four insurance related charges were issued and another 12 charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Steph Neufeld says on a critical roadway like the Trans Canada Highway, safety is everyone’s responsibility.
