The McNab-Braeside Alliance for a Clean Environment has launched its website, MB-ACE.
Spokesperson Chuck Crispim says it will be home portal for a campaign against what the group is terming as an incineration plant to be sited at the Township dump.
Crispim says only one municipal councillor replied to an email sent to all members, and while they have met with the Mayor, the two sides disagree as to the merits of the plan.
He sees the issue as factoring in the fall municipal election.
MB-ACE believes there’s no rush to import the Sustane technology.
Crispim says there’s a 75 year life-expectancy with the Township landfill, and plenty of time to do proper studies.
Township Mayor Tom Peckett has been spearheading the project as a viable and efficient means of waste disposal for all of Renfrew and Lanark Counties, and beyond.
