It’s not a game of chicken you want to play.
Killaloe OPP say a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a moose has sent the motorcyclist to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police responded to Highway 60 near Minnising Mountain Trail in Algonquin Provincial Park just after 9:00am on May 28th.
The 75 year old motorcyclist from Newcastle was heading eastbound on the Highway when the moose walked onto the road in front of them.
They attempted to stop, but were ejected from the bike when they lost control. No contact was made with the moose.
The driver was picked up by local ambulance services and the bike was towed.
Killaloe OPP have reported a number of collisions on roads that they patrol involving moose and deer over the last month. They ask you to be mindful of your speed and remain vigilant, and note that forested areas and near bodies of water are prime locations for animals to enter onto the road.
