The pandemic made getting police record checks a frustrating process, and, upon reflection, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have decided to move record checks online as of June 13th.
The new process facilitates those living in OPP-policed communities to submit requests for police record checks at opp.ca/recordchecks.
The online application process is good for four categories where records need to be verified: Criminal Record Checks (CRC), Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC), Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and OPP Non-Parent Custody Checks (LE213).
Payment will be collected electronically, with results delivered directly to the applicant through a secure portal link.
There is no change in the fee schedule: Record checks are $41.00, Fingerprints: $90.00 and Volunteer checks are carried out free-of-charge.
As of June 13th, additional information will be available at opp.ca/recordchecks.
