A significant funding announcement has been made for hospitals across Renfrew County and in the City of Pembroke. On Monday, May 2nd, 2022, Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski announced over $5.5-million in funding would go towards hospitals in the riding. Yakabuski says throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our local hospitals have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional care to patients and families. He adds this new investment is just one way Ontario is supporting high-quality and timely access to health care to ensure we have the capacity to stay open.
This funding will start in 2022/2023 and includes:
- $900,000 for the Renfrew Victoria Hospital
- $1.5-million for the Pembroke Regional Hospital
- $100,000 for the Deep River and District Hospital
- $200,000 for the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay
- $300,000 for Arnprior Regional Health
Arnprior Regional health will also receive $1,537,200 for six new patient beds and the Deep River and District Hospital Corporation will receive $1,024,800 for 4 new patient beds.
