There was no lack of effort in the Renfrew Wolves overtime loss to the league best Jr. Sens last night at the MAC. The wolf pack was one goal away from taking a 2-0 series lead. However Ottawa’s Velocci netted the game winner at 18:20 of the first overtime period. Ottawa and Renfrew exchanged goals in the first period with Tyson Tomasini scoring his 4th of the postseason. The Jr. Sens regained the lead in the second period, but the Wolves battled back. Alex Rossides potted his second of the playoffs at 15:25 of the third to send it to overtime. Renfrew’s Will Craig was stellar between the pipes, making 39 saves in the losing effort. Both teams were only able to notch one goal with the man advantage, Ottawa was 1/4 while Renfrew was 1/3. Game 3 of the best-of-7 series goes Wednesday night back in Ottawa at the Jim Durrell Sports Complex. myFM has the game for you with faceoff time set for 8:30pm.
