A Thursday evening fire at a home on McNaughton Road in the Township of Admaston-Bromley rendered the building “a complete loss.”
That’s according to Douglas Fire Chief Bill McHale who described to myFM what his crew saw when they arrived on the scene.
Chief McHale adds that the family in the home weren’t aware of the blaze until the son went outside to play basketball.
The fire engulfed the back end of the house on Thursday evening, spreading across one of the walls and through an addition. The house would be demolished later that night.
Chief McHale is relieved that the people living in the home were able to get out safely, adding they left “with just the clothes on their back.”
