An update on a missing person case. Around 7 pm Wednesday night, Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to a call after the body of a missing Petawawa resident was found by kayakers in the Petawawa River adjacent to Summit Trail. The woman has been identified as 36-year-old Sarah Shankland of Petawawa who had been missing since March 24, 2022. Police say that foul play is not suspected and a post mortem will be conducted to confirm the cause of death which is suspected to be drowning.
