BREAKING NEWS: The Warden for the County of Renfrew has announced the state of emergency for the region will be lifted.
This morning, Warden Debbie Robinson told members of County Council that on March 30th, 2020 she signed a piece of paper declaring a state of emergency in the County of Renfrew.
As part of her opening address to council and exactly two years from when it was implemented, Robinson announced the state of emergency in Renfrew County would be lifted.
Robinson says at this point we don’t have reason to celebrate, but adds it’s time to begin to bring some normalcy back to our lives.
The Warden goes on to say, as always the County of Renfrew would continue to monitor the ever changing landscape and do what is required to keep staff and residents safe while maintaining essential services.
The move to lift the state of emergency in Renfrew County comes as Ontario moves into the next step of the COVID-19 pandemic and most restrictions have been lifted in the province.
More details to come.
