Remuneration documentation for elected representatives for 2021 has been shared by the Town of Arnprior.
As Mayor, Walter Stack’s compensation was $37,246.32, while Council’s Chief Exec collected $6,268.61 in benefits and 1,525.80 in conference and other expense compensation.
The base salary for other representatives- be they Town or the County Councillor is $18,881.79.
Benefit packages are in part determined by the number of dependents, and range from a high of $7,089.73 for Councillor Lynn Grinstead, to a low of $1,092.78 submitted by County representative Dan Lynch.
The big question on compensation has yet to come back to the table- the one about what the Mayor’s salary should be in the next term.
An independent committee recommended the Mayor’s position be designated full-time, with a salary range of 59 to 65 thousand dollars a year.
The alternative suggestion is to tie the Mayor’s salary to the equivalent of what is paid in Carleton Place- which, in 2021, was $43.670.73.
