Ontario’s Cannabis stores are now allowed to provide pick-up and delivery on a permanent basis, and one local store wants to gauge interest.
Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission allowed for curbside pickup and deliveries of cannabis purchases temporarily as COVID-19 lockdowns were in place, but have made the decision to keep the services around full-time as restrictions start to lift.
Shannon St. Michael of Cannabis 2-2-8 in Renfrew says they’ve been offering pick-up for their customers, and the store has considered opening up “an hour or two window per day” where they do deliveries but “nothing is finalized right now.”
St. Michael also said it’ll be hard to gauge just how much business will shift from the store to online with the news, as “people do like to come into the store to talk” with staff to offer “feedback on product and suggestions.”
St. Michael adds there are other factors at play when comes to adding delivery services, including current regulations in place and the rising price of gas.
She adds that customers are invited to let them know how they feel about the possible addition of delivery service through the contact page of their website, cannabis228.com.
