The Renfrew Wolves continue their hot streak after beating the Pembroke Lumber Kings 5-1 on Tuesday night. The win makes it four in a row for the Wolves who continue their push towards the playoffs, moving into second in the Robinson Division and now two points ahead of Pembroke.
Brendan Hill was able to break the ice late in the first period while the Wolves found themselves short handed. From there, the score stayed in place until Charlie Johnson found the back of the net on the power play, giving him four goals in his last three games. The flood gates would open early in the third, as Preston Brighton, Mason Goldie, and Mathieu Parent put three more goals past Pembroke goaltender Nicholas Heinzle in the span of three minutes. Caden Eaton stopped the bleeding for Pembroke with a goal mid-way through the final frame, but by that point the game was well out of hand.
Wolves goaltender Will Craig made 39 saves on 40 shots, keeping a shutout alive well into the third period.
Since their last loss, a 1-0 shutout at the hands of the Ottawa Jr. Senators last week, the Wolves have outscored their opponents, 23-8.
