Ontario’s colleges and the union representing faculty are set to meet virtually tomorrow -one day before a threatened strike by professors and other academic staff. The college faculty bargaining team of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union says if real progress is made, they are willing to extend the strike deadline.Earlier today, 20 student associations from across the province called for the resumption of negotiations to avert a strike. They said the provincial government must intervene if the two sides can’t reach an agreement, because a strike would adversely effect more than 240,000 students.
