Citing actions already taken by the community, Town of Arnprior Council has formalized its support for the beleaguered country of Ukraine.
At the municipal meeting Monday, representatives passed a resolution instructing the Mayor to write a letter to the Ukrainian ambassador, indicating residents’ support for their nation’s struggle against invading Russian troops.
Canada is home to the second largest contingent of the Ukrainian Diaspora, behind Russia.
The 1000 dollars donation to the Canadian Red Cross follows an earlier statement of solidarity proclaimed by the Mayor, and the lighting of the Museum clock tower in blue and gold for an undetermined time.
Councillor Grinstead, (who,) along with Chris Toner moved and seconded the resolution.
