UPDATE: It was previously reported that this incident was a hit and run situation, however that was not the case and the story has been revised to reflect that.
The Ottawa Police Service Collision Unit Investigators are seeking witnesses to a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on Galetta Side Road on the overpass of the 417 highway.
The accident happened Friday evening (February 18th).
About 6:20pm, Frontline patrol officers responded to the motor vehicle collision.
The pedestrian, a 34 year old man from Arnprior, was walking on Galetta Side Road when he was struck by a 2010 black Ford F150 pickup that was travelling southbound.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the accident or may have dashcam footage of this incident that have not yet spoken to police.
