The Laurentian Valley (LV) Alice in Winterland Carnival returns this weekend.
Volunteer Elizabeth Graham says they’re excited to welcome people back as organizers had to cancel the event the past couple of years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some of the events planned include:
- Sleigh Rides
- Pet Parade
- Poker Walk/Snowshoe/Skate (LV Four Seasons Trail)
- Figure Skating Demonstration (10:00 AM)
- Sliding Hill – Sponsored by Smitty’s Home Hardware
- Chuck-a-Puck and Shoot Out on the Ice
- Lollipop Pull & Snowball Toss
- Snowman Building
- Archery
- Minnow Races
- Tea Boil
- Bonfire
- Night Skate at LV Four Seasons Trail
Graham says they will be handing out glow sticks and have hot chocolate and hot dogs to hand out as part of the Night Skate.
She’s hopeful that crews will be able to maintain the quality of the ice with the recent warm weather.
For updates on the event, Graham says check out the Laurentian Valley – Alice in Winterland Facebook page.
The 2022 edition of the LV Alice in Winterland event will be outdoors and masks have to be worn when physical distancing can’t be maintained.
