The Town of Arnprior’s Community Improvement Plan is up for review, and Council will have to decide on some recommendations from municipal administration on possible revisions.
Staff surveyed past recipients on the efficiency of the grant program, and the biggest complaint was the requirement to obtain two quotations on the project the individual applicant is considering before submitting the application to the Town.
Mayor Walter Stack doesn’t think that suggestion will fly.
The Community Improvement Program helps offset the cost of facade improvements within certain parameters.
The Mayor says elected representatives have a long list of proposed changes to the CIP, as some of the categories have been non-starters in terms of uptake.
Council will have further discussion on the matter at its meeting of February 8th.
