The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is reporting over 90% of residents 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Information from the RCDHU also shows upwards of 88% of local residents have received two or three shots with 204,234 total doses administered as of 8:00am on January 17th, 2022.
The RCDHU says all appointments for children aged 5-11 at 141 Lake Street in Pembroke have been moved to the clinic at 100 Crandall Street.
The vaccination clinic in Pembroke accepts walk-ins every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
All other clinic locations across Renfrew County and District will also accept walk-ins so be sure to check the weekly schedule.
The RCDHU says all residents over the age of five, including those who are, or are planning to become pregnant, should get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Across Renfrew County and District, more than 3,400 children between the age of five and eleven have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Premier Doug Ford says getting vaccinated is important so we can move forward with the reopening plan in Ontario.
He adds Ontario leads the way in Canada for third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
While Ontario has announced plans to lift capacity limits in all indoor public settings by March 14th, 2022, proof of vaccination will continue to be required in certain settings in addition to other measures.
