A 17th person in Renfrew County and District has died from COVID-19.
The updated information this afternoon also shows 80 new cases are being reported in the region.
The detailed case summary put out yesterday afternoon (January 13th, 2022) by the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU), showed 14 local residents were in the hospital with COVID-19.
There are currently 539 active COVID-19 cases spread out across Renfrew County and District.
Ontario is reporting 3,814 people are in hospital with COVID-19 today including 527 in intensive care units.
The province is also reporting 41 new virus-related deaths today.
There are 10,964 new COVID-19 cases being reported, but Public Health Ontario has noted that the total number is likely higher due to testing policy changes.
Starting today, immunocompromised Ontarians are able to book appointments for the fourth dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Quebec’s Health Department reports there are now 3,085 COVID-19 patients in the province’s hospitals, a jump of 91 in a single day.
Quebec is also reporting another 68 deaths.
