Every student and staff member in Ontario schools and child-care settings will get two rapid COVID-19 tests starting next week. Education Minister Stephen Lecce shared the news this afternoon (January 12th, 2022) as students are set to return to their classrooms for in-person learning on Monday. The rapid tests will be distributed first to staff, then to children in daycares and students in public elementary schools, followed by high school students. School boards will also be allowed to pivot between in-person and remote days to minimize school closures due to COVID-related staff absence.
