Businesses operating on the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation are moving back to curbside pick-up and window service.
The changes come amid a COVID-19 outbreak on the First Nation located near Golden Lake, Ontario.
The Pikwakanagan Emergency Response Control Group made the announcement on Monday (December 27th, 2021) and says there are now a number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the First Nation.
The new restrictions are currently in effect which requires window service or curbside pick-up to be reinstated.
Businesses also have to control line ups to ensure physical distancing can be maintained.
Gas bars can remain open, but customers are not allowed to exit their vehicles and staff and drivers must wear face masks.
Pikwakanagan restaurants also must change to delivery and curbside pick-up.
Safety plans are to be posted outside of businesses and customers are asked to use debit or credit to limit cash transactions and exchanges.
The Pikwakanagan Emergency Response Control Group says all businesses should be prepared for additional measures if more COVID-19 cases are confirmed in the community.
