Another two people are facing drug trafficking charges in one of the largest busts in the Ottawa Valley in recent memory.
The OPP spent several months investigating drug trafficking in the City of Pembroke.
The investigation was called Project NIELD.
Search warrants were executed at a number of locations in Pembroke, Renfrew and Arnprior earlier this month (December 2nd, 2021).
Additional arrests were recently made as part of Project NIELD.
27-year-old Megan Lacourse of Pembroke has been charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
40-year-old Joseph Seguin of Renfrew is facing six counts of trafficking cocaine, another count of trafficking crystal meth and six counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Both were released with court dates coming up in the New Year in Pembroke.
As part of Project NIELD 26 people have now been arrested and facing over 200 charges.
As part of the investigation the OPP took in suspected fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamines, psilocybin, thousands of dollars in cash, Conducted Energy Weapons and pepper spray along with ammunition, rifles, replica pistols.
A significant quantity of cellular phones were also seized along with items associated to the sale and distribution of illegal drugs such as scales and debt lists.
