Horrific projections of a double-digit budget increase approaching twelve percent in McNab-Braeside have been substantially pared back, according to Township Mayor Tom Peckett.
The Mayor says Ontario Community Infrastructure Funding first lowered the tally to 10.13 percent, and then Council put its nose to the grindstone and made some cuts.
Peckett says with the help from the Province and the pruning shears the local share increase falls to 6.55 percent.
The McNab-Braeside Mayor says the assessment increase on a home assessed at the median value of 254,000 dollars amounts to $101.30 annually, or $8.44 per month.
The Township has slated a Special Council Meeting for January 4th of next year to adopt the 2022 budget document.
