The Ontario Government is providing $12,049,698 to help build and repair local infrastructure in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke.
This investment is part of the government’s plan to build Ontario by getting shovels in the ground on critical infrastructure projects that support economic recovery, growth and job creation.
Funds are at least double the OCIF grants made available to the nineteen communities and the County of Renfrew in 2021.
The allocations are based on a formula that recognizes the different needs and economic conditions of communities across the province.
In the Renfrew listening area, the Town receives 1,523,470.
Brudenell-Lyndon-Raglan receives 437,029; Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards’ portion is 201,025. Madawaska Valley gets 373,657 while Laurentian Valley claims 355,027.
North Algona-Wilberforce portion is 383,568. Bonnechere Valley gets 511,675 and Whitewater Region, 488,393.
Admaston-Bromley’s portion totals 503,653 ; Horton’s share amounts to 191,273.
There’s 140,849 for Greater Madawaska; 146,802 for McNab-Braeside- and Arnprior’s slice is 1,099,596.
The County of Renfrew has been allocated 2,739,384.
Friday’s announcement is part of the government’s additional $1 billion investment to help build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure in small, rural and northern communities. The multi-year funding is being delivered through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) and will bring the government’s total investment to nearly $2 billion over the next five years.
