Earlier today, OPP detachments in Pembroke, Renfrew and Arnprior began executing search warrants at several locations across Renfrew County as part of Project Nield. According to officials, the search warrants come after a several month long drug investigation by OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit. You can likely expect to see an increased police presence in certain areas as the police operation continues throughout the day. There is no known risk to public safety. Updates will be provided as they become available.
Assisting the CSCU with the investigation are members of OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Regional Support Team (RST), Renfrew County Crime Unit and members of the Pembroke, Upper Ottawa Valley, Renfrew and Arnprior OPP Detachments.
