
Firefighters in Renfrew are reminding residents about the importance of having working smoke alarms after a home in Renfrew went up in flames.
The Renfrew Fire Department responded to a call to a house fire on Graham Avenue in Renfrew around 5:12am this morning (Wednesday, December 1st).
Crews were faced with heavy smoke and fire on the first level of the family dwelling.
The fire department says two residents narrowly escaped and suffered minor smoke inhalation.
The fire was brought under control within half an hour with the help of 15 firefighters and four apparatus.
The cause of the fire is considered to be electrical.
