The Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) has re-signed as a partner to the Violent Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA) Protocol.
This is a collaboration among school boards, 12 community agencies as well as local police services in Renfrew County.
The VTRA Protocol informs responses to all behaviors that pose a potential risk of violence.
The school board says VTRA focuses on creating supportive intervention plans that address the emotional and physical safety of those involved by connecting community support agencies with police and other groups across Renfrew County.
In situations where information suggests that there is a significant risk posed by an individual, partners work together in violence prevention, threat management and safety planning.
RCDSB Chair Bryon Morris says by working together, we can quickly identify and implement preventative measures to mitigate threats to students, schools, the public and the community.
