Despite a strong public push for a municipal Dog Park, the idea appears stuck in the Dog House for most of Arnprior Council.
Jennifer Morawiec told elected representatives that a public survey identified a volunteer base willing to take on the project, and eight criteria were developed that potential sites would have to meet.
While the first obstacle is that none of the proposed locations met all the criteria, the other barrier is that most councillors want the plan to leap through a series of fiscal hoops that could push the idea all the way into 2025.

Representatives did some fancy footwork with the motion, deleting the part that named possible locations and substituting a commitment to research costs and investigate other sites.
On a recorded vote, it carried 5-2.
