Santa Claus is coming to Eganville on Sunday, December 12th at 1:00pm.
The Eganville Rotary Club Santa Claus Parade of Hope will leave from the corner of Jane and Bonnechere Street, follow Highway 41 across the bridge, up Bridge Street and to Legion Field.
Rotary Club President Wayne Gorman says Santa and Ms. Claus will be back at the Eganville Legion after the parade. He adds there’s enough room to space out along the parade route to safely watch.
The Eganville Rotary Club float will be collecting donations for the food drive.
There will also be a contest for the best floats in a number of different categories.
Prize categories ($75 for 1st place, $25 for honourable mention):
- Best float with the theme of “Parade of Hope, Spread the Joy”
- Best overall float
- Best horse/rider or team and driver
- Best walking character
- Best non-commercial community group
Gorman says everyone is welcome and those who are interested in having a float are asked to register with the township office.
