The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) is bemused by Premier Ford’s reversal on the Province’s Minimum Wage.
A 2018 decision to cancel the $15 minimum wage has cost workers significantly over the past three years, according to Patty Coates, OFL President.
She notes the action was one of the first things the PC government did when it assumed office in 2018.
Coates notes that British Columbia, Alberta, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories all have a minimum wage of $15 or higher.
The OFL President is speaking out in advance of the body’s 16th Biennial Convention, to be held this week.
The Ontario Federation of Labour represents 54 unions and one million workers across the Province.
