How do you feel about the statement that, “The Greater Arnprior Region has become a destination of choice for seniors.”?
For the Greater Arnprior Seniors Council, there’s no doubt about it.
The group says that since Arnprior’s Age-Friendly Community Action Plan was developed in 2016 there have been a number of demonstrated successes- seven, in fact.
Topping the list is the expansion of the Grove Nursing Home to 96 beds.
Establishing the Seniors Active Living Centre, and continuing it virtually during the pandemic is next, followed by obtaining additional support funding for Carefor’s Arnprior -Braeside-Seniors at Home Community Transportation program, networking opportunities with resource centres and Provincial groups, affordable housing research, day-program and learning opportunities and financial literacy training to help you pinch those pennies.
Spokesperson Darrel O’Shaughnessy states: “This is only the beginning of even better things to come moving forward.”
