The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation was inaugurated as a Federally-recognized statutory holiday
with the introduction, then passage of, Bill C-5, on September 29, 2020.
Chris Toner, who served a Deputy Mayor for the Arnprior Town Council meeting Monday, September 27th says a local ceremony for the new holiday will take place early tomorrow.
In addition to the flag raising ceremony tomorrow morning at 8AM at Town Hall, there’s an Education piece happening later in day, which the Town is providing a link to.
Thursday is the first occasion the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be observed.
