The first-ever NatureFest was held Sunday morning at Clay Bank Park, located off White Lake Road in McNab-Braeside.
The official occasion was to mark the receipt of over 29,000 dollars in Federal money to develop a Community Garden in the Township.
A guided nature walk with Michael Runtz was the highlight for the seventy or so folks in attendance.
Runtz is a walking encyclopedia of natural lore.
Formal remarks from participants outlined how the location had once been considered for a trailer park, but in the last four years the fifty-plus acre site has seen a remarkable transformation, according to Mayor Tom Peckett.
