The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP is currently investigating after the remains of a dog were found floating in Mackey Creek in Head, Clara, and Maria Township.
Police say the large black dog, similar to a Labrador Retriever, was found yesterday morning (September 14th), by a citizen near the boat launch.
The dog did not have a microchip or identification tag.
Officers say evidence located surrounding the discovery of the dog suggest foul play may be involved in the death.
A necropsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 613-735-0188 or Pembroke/Renfrew County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.valleytips.ca.
