The biggest crowd in Renfrew in recent memory took full advantage of near-perfect weather to attend the 166th annual edition of the Renfrew Fair this past weekend.
CityNews had a reporter at the event who extolled the celebration despite its COVID constraints.
The Renfrew Rotary Club’s food booth at the Fair, home of the famous Back-Bacon-On-A-Bun delicacy had to close early Sunday when it ran out of rashers, but fair goers- masked and unmasked, readily embraced what was offered.
The Armouries served as a concert venue for Eagles and AC/DC cover bands, but again next year should welcome its customary itinerant vendors.
Robertson Amusements, operators of the midway brought an extra contingent of food vendors as requested by the Fair Board- and the culinary diversity was eagerly devoured by those attending.
That the Renfrew Fair occurred at all where many other Valley Fairs did not- was appreciated by most as a sign of coming normalcy- fingers crossed.
