McNab/Braeside is showing off all the fine work that’s been done at the Township’s Clay Bank Park.
There’s an event planned for Sunday September 26th that’s being billed as the inaugural Fall Nature Fest at the facility.
It will showcase the brand-new community garden, housing 12 plots, as well as the efforts made to turn Clay Bank into an agricultural/nature demonstration park.
The day begins at 8:30 am with a guided nature walk conducted by renowned naturalist Michael Runtz.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the community garden and remarks by Mayor Tom Peckett at 9:30 am.
Multiple concurrent workshops fill the remainder of the morning, and visitors can choose between creating fall wreaths; hanging painted birdhouses along the trails; participating in a seed/bulb exchange; observing landscape painting techniques with a local artist; or learning how to capture carbon in the soil; or about edible plants and flowers.
The Arnprior Public Library’s own Curby book-mobile will be in attendance, offering a curbside service of books about growing and foraging for all ages.
