Under the heading of flight from police, Renfrew OPP are reporting two encounters from Saturday September 4th.
About 6:15PM an officer on traffic patrol observed a suspected prohibited driver on Knight Street in Horton Township and gave chase.
The 32 year-old male driver attempted to get away, but eventually came to a stop.
Michael Neuman of Horton was charged with driving while prohibited and flight from a peace officer.
He’s being held in custody for a bail hearing that will occur via video link on September 15th.
About ten minutes later, following multiple complaints from motorists, OPP pulled over a vehicle in Highway 417 in McNab-Braeside and charged 31 year-old Christopher Reid of Admaston-Bromley with impaired operation, dangerous operation and flight from police.
The Highway Traffic Act charges were augmented by Provincial offences that included possession of illicit cannabis, driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available, failure to surrender licence and failing to have an insurance card.
Reid was released on an undertaking and will appear in Renfrew Court on October 10th.
