It’s tempting to editorialize when two persons can be stopped on the same road on back-to-back days for similar offences, but like an old Black and White TV cop show used to say, “The facts, m’am, just the facts.”
Renfrew OPP say just before midnight Sunday August 22nd, they snared a 35 year-old driver of no fixed address in a RIDE program on Burnstown Road in McNab-Braeside Township.
The man was charged for operating without insurance with mis-matched plates.
The very next day on the very same road police stopped the very same driver for operating without insurance and the vehicle was towed.
This time, the police investigation suggested additional charges were warranted.
The 35 year-old man now faces one count of obstruction, two of personation, two of possession of property obtained by crime, fraud over 5 thousand dollars and seven counts of failure to comply.
His 42 year-old female companion faces obstruction, personation, false ID and possession of property obtained by crime counts.
Both individuals remain guests of Her Majesty pending a bail hearing by video link Monday August 30th.
