If you’re wondering what caused the big traffic snarl on Highway 17 at Renfrew Wednesday morning, CityNews tells us it was because a minivan driver misjudged the opportunity for a left-turn at the Bruce Street lights and struck an eastbound car.
Of the five people involved in the 10:45AM collision, two of those in the car were taken to hospital by Renfrew County Paramedics for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Horton and Renfrew Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
OPP kept Highway 17 open in both directions, but the traffic back-up extended well past the O’Brien Road intersection, and westbound toward Haley Station.
The scene was cleared by 12:15PM.
